After years of being the “golden city” on many national best of lists, Austin may be losing its crown, Culturemap Austin reports.
The analyst at the financial service WalletHub recently ranked 300 US cities to determine the best real estate markets in the country. After reviewing 50 key metrics, such as affordability and economic environment, they ranked the most attractive markets.  Last year, Austin ranked at the 5th spot, but this year the rental market dropped down to number 68.

The rental market in Texas is dominating.

While Dallas suburb Frisco came in at number one on the list,  other cities in North Texas including McKinney followed at number 2. In addition, Allen came in at the number 3 spot, Richardson at number 5 and Carrollton at number 8.  Finally, Dallas proper was at the 57th spot.
Other big cities in Texas came in even lower.  Houston was number 206 and San Antonio was number 215.
