New Austin apartments are coming to South Austin on South Congress.
New luxury apartments will be built in South Austin on South Congress between William Cannon and Slaughter. Austin Business Journal reports on the new project by Oden Hughes. The luxury apartment complex will have 300 new Austin apartments on 14.6 acres. Oden Hughes has built 5 other apartment communities in South Austin in the last 6 years.
Oden Hughes says the area is popular with young professionals looking for Austin apartments close to restaurants, retail, work, and more. These potential residents are looking for rents cheaper than downtown. As South Austin grows, so do the options for things to do. Nearby Southpark Meadows is full of shopping, dining, and entertainment. There are also breweries close by, including Texas Keeper Cider.
Oden Hughes sees a continued demand for apartment projects because Austin is expected to continue to be popular with renters.
There is no name for the South Congress apartments yet, but units will range from one to three bedrooms and two bedroom townhomes. Apartments will range in size from 600 square feet to 1,380 square feet. Rents will range from $1,127 to a little less than $2000.
Amenities will be geared towards the target market of young professionals.
For recreation, there will be a sky lounge, a pool with two cold spas and cabanas, billiards, and shuffleboard. For fitness, the 24 hour gym will include a fitness on demand room for aerobics. There will be a dog park and dog wash station for pets. Finally, there will be a food smoker and package lockers.
These Austin apartments are on a heavily wooded site. The community is expected to open next year. Oden Hughes is also building Lenox Springs and Lenox Boardwalk in South Austin. In North Austin, they are constructing a 350 unit apartment community called Lenox Ridge near the Domain.
